Black marketing up

Black marketing of petroleum products has soared in Bara and Parsa districts due to the indefinite general strike called by United Democratic Madhesi  front for the last 52 days.
Consumers have no option but to pay exorbitant rates due to the security of fuel.The sit-ins at various border points  have badly affected the supply of petroleum product from India.
    Taking advantage of the border blockade,some youths have been selling petrol on the roads in Bara and Parsa district. The price of petrol, sold openly on the roads, has been set at Rs 150 to 170 per litre, which is more than the price set by Nepal Oil corporation. Consumer said police administration  had taken no action whatsover to control black-marketing.
Ashok sah,Cheif of Nepal Oil Corporation Regional office Birgunj, said the fuel crisis had hit people hard.
Of the 49 petrol pumps in Parsa, all have run out of  the import of petroleum  products due to the border blockade.
