Indian Envoy Ray meets PM Oli, vows to end embargo
Kathmandu, October 12. Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Ranjit Ray, met newly-elected Prime Minister KP Oli at the latter’s residence in Balkot on Monday morning. At the meeting, Ambassador Ray pledged to end the blockade early on. He congratulated the newly-elected PM.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had congratulated Oli over the phone yesterday and invited him to India. Ray’s ties with Oli are reportedly uneasy.
According to media reports, Ray had conspired to prevent Oli from becoming PM. He also faces charges of instigating Madheshi, Tharu and other disgruntled forces for movements.
Sources say New Delhi is likely to recall Ray, blaming him for spoiling ties with Nepal
