In the Toronto International Film Festival, the 34-year-old actor Jake Gyllenhaal joked about having some urgent matters that he needs to address – fried chicken. The Demolition star was all jokes during the Demolition premiere on September 10. He was joking about having to write a complaint letter to the famous fast-food chain Kentucky Fried Chicken, commonly known as KFC. As a kid, he was hoping that KFC would bring back to their menu a particular delicious item.
According to the news, the actor was pertaining to little chicken nuggets that looked like hamburgers. It was during the actor’s young advocacy days. He can not recall the exact name of the food item, but it was phased out when he was still in school. He was then taught in school how to write a complaint letter, so he wrote to KFC asking if they could bring back the little chicken nuggets. Gyllenhaal was actually talking about KFC’s Chicken Little. After twenty years, it eventually returned to KFC’s menu in 2012.
In the actor’s newest project Demolition, he is an investment banker who lost his wife in a car crash. He then discovers a way to vent out his frustrations through writing complaint letters. In the movie, he worked with award-winning actress Naomi Watts. Watts plays a customer service department employee who starts reading Gyllenhaal’s complaint letters.
In a statement by Gyllenhaal, he expressed his opinion about the practice of writing down complaint letters. He mentioned how empowering it was, and he encourages people to express themselves if they feel like something is taken away from them, and they want to have it back. “In my case, really important things like fried chicken.
